POODLES ARE INVITED TO SIGMA GAMMA RHO Σ Γ Ῥ SORORITY

Valley of the Sun Poodles were invited to participate by the Σ Γ Ῥ Sorority, Inc. to their initiation celebration, The Sorority is fully committed to assisting those in need and the betterment of communities around the globe. The members work in partnership with national support organizations including the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), National Urban League, The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and many others. It is an academic-based sorority founded by African-American schoolteachers in Indianapolis, IN on November 12, 1922. November 12th is the sorority's Founders' Day! Beta Pi 

This ceremony celebrates Fall 2018 inductees into Beta Pi chapter. There were sorority members from all over Arizona coming to the ceremony to wish them luck. There was a performance by the new inductees, to include traditional stepping and strolling that tells of the history of their culture incorporated with humorous movements depicting poodles.

The Poodle is the Σ Γ Ῥ official sorority mascot. VSPC was asked if the new inductees would be able to pose with poodles for photos. The poodles were VIPs at the ceremony, as they are hallmarks of their organization.
